Hazardous material response refresher for incidental and uncontrolled release incidents and construction related activities on hazardous waste job sites. This course meets the training refresher requirements for Hazardous Site Workers as described in 29 CFR 1910.120 (e)(8).

Employees who wear spill response PPE (SCBAs, Air Purifying respirators, spill suits) must be certified by the employer for competency with using this equipment.
Student will work on practice problems using CAMEO Chemicals, the NIOSH Pocket Guide, the Emergency Response Guidebook, Safety Data Sheets and other industry recognized information sources.
Note - WISER (Wireless Information System for Emergency Responders) is no longer available from the National Library of Medicine after 28-Feb-2023. This course will instruct students how use other recognized electronic information sources to use during a spill response. Specifically, CAMEO Chemicals, NOSH Pocket Guide, and the ERG app will be explained.
Students may stop and restart this course at their own pace. The course consists of video, practice problems and an examination. Students should allocate approximately 8 to 9 hours at the computer in order to complete this course. Upon successful completion of an online test, students will be issued a certificate. Students can always call or e-mail an instructor while working on course materials.
